It’s no secret that the Rockford-area has many homeless individuals out there on the streets. Anywhere you choose to travel downtown Rockford, you are guaranteed to see at least one, but more than likely multiple, people in a small radius. In fact, we have some homeless people living right outside of Rockford Community College’s walls. With a skate park nearby and many businesses surrounding the area, we are located in a spot where someone without shelter is able to be covered.
But it’s getting cold out.
Admit it – you don’t know what a CNC machinist does, but the title alone sounds impressive and makes you want to be one! CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control and has been around since the 1970’s. Though most people have never heard this term, most people have dealt with CNC on almost a daily basis.
The demand for CNC machinists is on the rise, thanks to advancements in the field and a lack of skilled workers trained for these positions. Learning CNC means learning how to use computer-controlled machines or robots in order to make or assemble products, among other possible uses.
