In September 1787, the United States Constitution was signed by our Founding Fathers. Every year, the National Constitution Center celebrates this day by hosting a celebration at the museum. Well, here at Rockford Career College, we also celebrated this remarkable day in history! Students and instructors alike joined in the Student Lounge for muffins and juice. They were welcomed with trivia questions in the form of a Hall Pass, which all related to the Constitution. Those with the correct answer were put in a raffle to win a prize.

La'Zarvius Ferguson Appointed Director of Financial Aid

La'Zarvius Ferguson, MBA has been hired by Rockford Career College as Director of Financial Aid. In his role, he is responsible for managing financial aid operations for the Rockford Career College campuses in Rockford, Minneapolis and Madison, as well as the Media Institute campuses in Minneapolis and Madison.
 
“We were very fortunate to find La’Zarvius,” said Rockford Career College Campus President Mike O’Herron. “His energy, enthusiasm, super communication skills and ability to connect make him a wonderful fit for our colleges.”

Melissa Ridgeway Promoted to Community Outreach Coordinator

Melissa Ridgeway has been promoted to the position of community outreach coordinator for Rockford Career College. In her new role, she is responsible for meeting with high school students and others who could benefit from Rockford Career College’s unique approach to education.
 
Ridgeway joined Rockford Career College in 2015 as the student services officer and paralegal lead instructor, after working in the field for more than 10 years. “I’ve been on the teaching side and now I'm very excited to get out and help even more students become successful in their chosen career,” she said.

While taking these welding certification classes, these students are learning all about safety and the proper techniques required to be top notch welders in their field. Now, having not met our welding students, let me paint a picture for you – these students are literally bursting with personality. They are fun and witty, which occasionally makes it extremely difficult to keep them focused on the various classroom lecture topics.
