DATE On June 17, 2021

Always striving to reach her full potential, Bethany Kopp continued her education so she could begin her dream career. “If you are not green and growing, then you are dead and dying,” she says. “Always try to improve yourself.” All of us at Rockford Career College are proud of Bethany for studying hard and graduating from our medical assistant program.

What You Learn in a Medical Assistant Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses.

During the program, Bethany took courses such as: Patient Care, Specimen Collection and Analysis, MA Technology Fundamentals, and more.

In these courses, she learned about:

  • The medical assistant’s role in patient care including assisting with physical examinations, obtaining vital signs and anthropometric measurements, preparing and maintaining exam rooms, assisting in life span specialties, and keeping medical documentation
  • The proper handling, collecting, transportation, and testing of various types of specimens
  • Microsoft Windows and its applications, such as desktop features, search capabilities, and file management, as well as creating, editing, and formatting documents and spreadsheets

Bethany also developed her practical skills during her 170-hour externship with 160 hours in a clinical setting.
