Are you hesitating to start a career program because you are afraid of not finding a job after graduation? Recent graduate Ashley Russell is just one of many alumni who has done this.
One raccoon. That was all it took to change Alexis Shearer's fate. When a young raccoon's mother passed away and there was no rehabilitation center in the county to take him, Ms. Shearer stepped in to help. It was then that she knew helping animals was her passion.
“When he was about ten months old, he got sick, and no vet would see him within three hours of us,” Ms. Shearer recounts. “I ended up saving him when no vet would. He went on to be happy and healthy and is in the wild. He made me want to make a difference and specialize in wildlife.”
Are you a risk-taker? While jumping into a new career may seem daunting, taking the initial plunge is necessary for making great accomplishments. Grace Brown is one recent Rockford Career College graduate who found that taking the risk was worthwhile.
Ms. Brown's desire to provide outstanding care for animals led her to RCC. While enrolled in the veterinary technician program, she faced several challenges, one of which was the passing of her grandmother. “She was my best friend,” says Ms. Brown.
Have you ever been uncertain if a job was right for you? Many consider welding to be a male-oriented career, but there are plenty of opportunities for women to thrive in this trade. Fast growth in the trades has inspired women like Paige Kroschel to explore this career path. Ms. Kroschel graduated from Rockford Career College's welding program this month and is ready to begin her new dream job.
Working multiple jobs. Caring for children. Sometimes, every day matters prompt us to place our dreams on hold. When it comes to continuing education and starting a better career, many feel that financial and time constraints make those goals impossible to pursue. However, at Rockford Career College, it may be easier than you expect.
