We Proudly Present Paralegal Graduate Charae Howard
DATE On June 28, 2022

“You only fail when you stop trying!” says Charae Howard, Rockford Career College graduate. While enrolled in our career programs, Charae never stopped displaying determination. She earned not only a paralegal diploma but also her Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies degree. All of us at RCC are extremely proud of Charae for studying hard and achieving her academic and professional goals.

What You Learn in a Paralegal Studies Associate Degree Program

Our paralegal program is designed to provide students with relevant, in-demand skills. Our AAS programs go beyond by allowing students to complete an advanced level of course work in their chosen field and develop general education skill sets in areas such as English, history, and math. For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Charae took courses such as: Criminal Law, Administrative Law, and Human Resources Law.

In these courses, she learned about:

  • The rules and principles that underlie and govern criminal law and procedure
  • Legislation, delegation and limitations on agency, due process of law, agency informal action, rulemaking, acquiring and disclosing, adjudication, judicial law, workers' compensation law, and Social Security disability law
  • The essential laws, techniques, forms, and terminology that govern recruitment and placement, training and development, employee compensation and benefits, labor relations and employee security, and the global management of human relations

In addition to paralegal-specific courses, Amber also completed general education requirements such as History of American Government and Life Science to round out her Associate of Applied Science degree.
