We Proudly Present Medical Assistant Graduate Tiffany Anderson-Salamone
DATE On April 13, 2022

“If you only shine light on your flaws, all your perfects will dim.” This Colleen Hoover quote reminded Tiffany Anderson-Salamone to focus on her strengths rather than her weaknesses.1 One way she did this was by enrolling at Rockford Career College and pursuing a career in which she would thrive. She graduated from our medical assistant program on the Dean's List. We are so proud of her for accomplishing her goal and beginning a career she loves.

What You Learn in a Medical Assistant Program

For each graduate of a program, we highlight three different courses. During the program, Tiffany took courses such as: Regulatory Issues in Health Information, Professional Success Strategies, and Minor Surgical Procedures.

In these courses, she learned about:

  • The delivery of healthcare services; documentation of care; rights and responsibilities of providers, employees, payers, and patients in a healthcare context; and legal terminology pertaining to civil liability and the judicial and legislative processes
  • Portraying professionalism in behavior, presentation, dress, and work ethic, as well as the professional standards of the industry
  • Minor office surgical techniques with emphasis placed on surgical asepsis, infection control, preparation of the patient for minor surgery, informed consent, assisting with diagnostic procedures, postoperative care, and rehabilitative modalities

How Our Graduate Became a Medical Assistant

Like Tiffany, you too could become a medical assistant in just a matter of months and start your career journey in this interesting and necessary profession. As a student, you will have the opportunity to gain real-world experience before graduating by completing a 170-hour externship with 160 hours in a clinical setting. From completing the enrollment process to connecting with local employers, we will be here to assist you on your career journey. We also offer financial aid to those who qualify.
