Meet Our Instructor - Sheneitha Hayes
For Sheneitha, what started as caring for elderly family members soon turned into a fulfilling career. As a patient care technician, Sheneitha has changed many lives and led aspiring PCT's to success.
During her 26 years in healthcare, Sheneitha has held many roles, including lead/supervisor. However, what she values most is caring for those who are vulnerable and in need of quality, loving care. Currently, Sheneitha is a preceptor at SwedishAmerican Hospital in Rockford, working closely with patients in the Mental Health Unit. Additionally, Sheneitha is certified in phlebotomy, electrocardiography, and respiratory care.
Now, Sheneitha is the lead instructor for Rockford Career College's patient care technician program. Understanding internal hospital processes and having experience with training coworkers have translated into her ability to help students interested in the field. Courses she teaches include: Introduction to Healthcare, Patient Safety and Responsibilities, and Nursing Assistant Skills.
Sheneitha encourages her students to stay determined, no matter what. “Knowledge, determination, and the ability to care for others are gifts, but having the heart to care for others is what matters most,” Sheneitha says. “If you love what you do, work will never feel like a job but a place where you get to exhibit your passion daily.”
If you share Sheneitha's compassion for others, consider joining our patient care technician program. Call 888.680.6682 or submit the Request Information form online. You, too, could make a difference in your community.
