Meet Our Instructor - Ryan Bradley
You know you're worth more than what you're making. What do you do? If negotiating and searching for a new employer in the same field don't yield better results, you have another choice: switching career tracks. That's how Ryan, Rockford Career College's CNC program chair, turned around his professional life.
“A long time ago, I was a highly-motivated but under-skilled laborer, looking for an opportunity to learn and grow both as a professional and an individual,” recounts Ryan. In 2005, he took the plunge and began his career as a CNC machinist. Over the next 14 years, he continued programming and operating CNC equipment, constantly improving and developing his skills. The knowledge and experience he gained during that time prepared him for the next phase of his professional life: teaching.
“I have recently chosen education as a new career path for myself and have enjoyed every minute of my time spent with the students and staff at RCC,” Ryan says. Although his tenure at RCC has been a short two years, Ryan has been passing down his CNC knowledge for much longer. “I have spent many years training individuals to safely program and operate several types of CNC machinery in the field,” he recalls. “I thoroughly enjoy educating the future generation of machinists with the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to be successful in the workplace as a CNC machinist.”
Since our instructors have worked in their field for years, their teachings incorporate real-life examples, making it easier to apply your new knowledge in the real-world setting.
